Buckfast, also known as Buckie, is the notorious wine-based fortified tonic drink, made by Devonshire monks and beloved by neds and students in Ireland and Scotland. Each bottle of Buckfast contains around 280mg of caffeine, the equivalent of nearly nine cans of Coke.

A lovely rich nose with aroma of black currant, blood plums, chocolate, spice, liquorice and fine pencil shaving oak. On the palate the wine is medium bodied with intense fruit flavours and excellent length. The Shiraz has excellent depth and concentration, with fine tannins. Enjoyable to drink as a young wine, it will continue to develop over four to six years.
