Description
Produced by the winemaker behind the famed wines of Mirafiore and Fontanafredda, the Maretti label has signified exceptional value from Piemonte since it was first imported to Australia.
In 2016, the conditions were next to perfect for growing Nebbiolo acrss the region. Maretti took full advantage producing their first Barolo from Castiglione Falletto. Unsurprisingly, given this producer’s track record for over delivering and under charging, the Barolo comes in at a very modest price when compared to the rest of the region.
It’s classically styled, too. A sea of red fruit, licorice, orange peel and fine, dusty tannin that will continue to evolve in bottle for the next decade plus.
