Description
Diageo Reserve touts their Singleton Malt Masters Selection Single Malt Scotch Whisky as a “welcoming and engaging” introduction to single malts. While this is very true, it is selling this wonderful scotch whiskey way short of its potential. Craig Wilson, Singleton’s master of malts hand selects the raw spirits destined for each bottling and then it is triple aged in ex-wine casks, ex-sherry butts and ex-bourbon barrels to deliver a drinking experience that might be better described as subtle rather than mild. True it doesn’t have the bite of some scotch whiskeys, but the toffee, rich vanilla, spicy and woodsy tones are all there for your enjoyment.
